Several years ago, I was waiting for the clock to hit 5pm, and while sitting there, I started doodling on one of those large desk calendars. I added a few things over the next few days, and people started stopping by to see my funny looking designs. More incredibly, word got around and soon I was being asked to do a doodle for them. It was strange being offered money for something that was so much fun to do.
There's a lot of things that happened from that time until a couple of years later when the Baptist Sunday School Board bought four of my prints for all of their stores which were, at that time, the place to be for Christian products.
Things really picked up after that when a marketing company agreed to sell my art in several hundred book stores. Two years later, after a very difficult time at home, I ceased selling retail and began to travel across the country to meet with youth ministers, music ministers, and the pastors of a lot of churches. The problem was that I was gone from my teenage sons too much; consequently, I had to rethink things and after a couple of years, I started over online.
I have written a book which goes into more depth about what happened when God slammed one door and opened another. There you can read about my life, family, and the heartaches when I lost my way and God gave me another direction.
This site is more than just a place to buy something I've created. It's my way of trying to reach out to a lot of young people who need to know more about the love of Christ, to be proud to be a Christian, and let their peers know about their faith. That's not easy in today's culture. There are so many negatives meeting them head on every day. Values and history seem to be something old fashioned, not needed in this new and changing world. Christianity is constantly taking a hit for being "out of the loop" in today's society.
It's time we did something to help them to be on the offensive; so, if you haven't read my 10,000 Free Posters page, please take a moment to see what it is I want this site to support.
I do thank you for taking time to read this, and hope to hear from you. God Bless . . .
