I officially started Hisart Publishing in 1994.  It has seen many changes, but the main reason for being here hasn't changed.  God had a plan for me, which I didn't know about until I had lost almost everything to bad decisions, bad directions, and an ego that had gotten so big, I thought I could do anything but quickly and quite catastrophically found that I couldn't.  

After several years of trying to stand up and meet the day again, still thinking  my life had become simply irrelevant, I was sitting at my desk one day, had a few minutes of downtime, and started doodling on a calendar.  The doodles were in color and my coworkers began noticing my rather crazy designs and the word spread about the calendar.  People wanted to buy my page or wanted me to do a doodle for them.  I did names, and sayings, and started doing a few drawings for Christmas cards.  After a couple of years, I decided, or actually God decided, that I would design Christian prints in a bright, colorful format which I soon found out that kids really thought they were cool.

A lot of young people really liked my Christian designs, and parents wanted them for their kid's rooms.  I was having a lot of fun, and helping take care of the family too.  I even found myself in 600+ bookstores, but something was missing.  It took two more years before I found out what it was that was missing.  I needed to tell my story, and to do that, I began visiting church youth groups and other youth oriented groups.  On many occasions, though they might have really wanted one of the posters, their parents were barely making ends meet. If I could have given them away . . . which I would have loved to do . . . but I couldn't.  If I didn't make enough to cover my expenses, I couldn't continue what I was doing.  Then it occurred to me that maybe there were businesses or individuals  who  might want to help by purchasing the posters and letting us give them away for free to their church or a youth group, or another church for free.  

Our sales, our sponsors, and others who wish to help us keep the company running, allowing me to give talks wherever I am needed, trying to get the word out as best I can.  That's about it.  If you like what we do and want to help, let me know, or feel free to choose from what we have on line knowing that each dollar you spend is helping in so many ways.
